Much of the stories draw from my own life and experiences, and in this case, I was unofficially upbraided by a couple NCOs. They were southern 'good ole boys', collage grads, and resented the idea of a barely high school grad Yankee with a 'non-white' name using a polysyllabic vocabulary.
