Well, THX is the obvious one, but its also in A New Hope and maybe in American Graffiti (been a long time since I'd seen that one). I suspect it has creeped into other movies by now too.

"Cell Block 1138"? I also seem to recall the stormtrooper named TK421 in the movie was named THX1138 in the novelisation...

There might have been a license plate reading "1138" in AG, but I'm not entirely certain.

I thought it was the tractor beam area(but its been a few years) Though the power display for the tractor beam is similar to that on the car THX uses to escape.

I believe it was also used in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I forgot exactly where it is in Empire but Leia's helmet when she's all gussied up as a bounty hunter has "1138" painted on the right side.
